Initial Consultation
Your transformative journey with Halt Square is an exciting and personalized experience, beginning with a thoughtful initial consultation that allows us to dive deep into your riding ambitions.
Getting Started
During our consultation, we’ll review the information you’ve shared and engage in a meaningful discussion with you and your coach. We’ll explore your riding history with your horse, identifying both your achievements and future goals. To understand your strengths and areas for improvement, we’ll conduct a thorough off-horse assessment, taking into account where you feel you struggle and your personal desires for growth.
Once you’re in the saddle, we’ll perform a second assessment, meticulously observing your seat and leg position during various gaits—halt, walk, trot, and canter. We’ll note any changes in posture and identify weak points in your position, focusing not only on you but also on your horse. Your feedback, as well as input from your coach, is essential to this process.
Upon completing the consultation, our dedicated team will collaboratively determine the ideal package that aligns with your unique needs and those of your horse. With this foundation in place, Halt Square will craft a customized fitness and nutrition plan that addresses all the questions and challenges you’ve encountered in the saddle, setting you on the path to success.
For the most effective results, we recommend conducting the consultation during a lesson with your coach. If your coach cannot be present, we’ve designed a convenient form to ensure we create the perfect program for your success. For those without a coach but a fervent desire to enhance their seat and performance, Halt Square offers a team of online coaches ready to analyze your ride and assist in crafting your dream program.
And for those who lack access to someone to film your ride, we’ve got you covered with our Pixem auto-follow camera system, provided free of charge. This allows us to focus entirely on evaluating your ride and to review your footage comprehensively. Your journey with Halt Square is about precision, progress, and personalized guidance, tailored to help you achieve your equestrian dreams.

Your Fitness Routine
Once we’ve gathered the necessary insights from your consultation, your personalized fitness program undergoes a thorough review by our team of experts, including an EC certified coach, elite trainer, and our athletic trainer. This unique blend of specialties allows us to craft a program tailored specifically to you and your horse, following the SMART model—ensuring it’s Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound.
Throughout your journey, we may identify the need for a pre-ride routine. This could involve activities like muscle activation, stretching, or mental preparation before mounting.
You might wonder why you can’t stick to the same program month after month. The answer lies in the fact that both you and your horse are athletes on a journey of progression. As you advance, new weaknesses and challenges emerge, and your physical strength allows you both to explore new horizons. This is where our mid-month video check-in, filmed by you and emailed to Halt Square, comes into play. At the end of each month, we’ll review your progress, discuss the highs and lows, and analyze your gains both in the gym and while mounted. This continuous assessment enables us to adapt and evolve your plan in alignment with your evolving needs.
Though progress photos aren’t mandatory, they can be incredibly beneficial. Additionally, during your initial consultation, we can take measurements to track subtle changes in your body over time. These visual markers not only serve as a testament to your progress but also boost your confidence. Your increased confidence, in turn, positively influences your horse and sets the stage for your future success in the equestrian arena.
Upon joining Halt Square, you’ll gain access to our state-of-the-art training app, TrueCoach, at no extra cost. This versatile app becomes your fitness companion, allowing you to communicate with our team whenever you need. TrueCoach stores your customized workouts, enabling you to track your progress effortlessly. It also empowers our coaches to make informed decisions about your next steps, ensuring a dynamic and effective training journey.

Our comprehensive Rider Training & Nutrition Package goes beyond the Rider Training offering, providing you with an all-encompassing approach to achieving peak performance. We understand that proper nutrition is the key to unlocking your body’s full potential, allowing you to perform at your absolute best. In the world of athletic excellence, nutrition and physical activity are inseparable partners, working together to elevate your performance to new heights.
Our nutrition program delves deep, seeking to identify the diet and fitness routine that not only aligns with your goals but also seamlessly integrates into your daily life. We take into account your schedule, your riding times, and your workout opportunities, all aimed at making your life easier while ensuring your body is at its happiest and healthiest.
The significance of a tailored nutrition plan cannot be overstated. It impacts every facet of your life, from mood and skin health to muscle support, recovery, immunity, and even your heart and digestive system. We will create a nutrition plan uniquely for you, recognizing its critical role in your overall well-being.
This package builds upon the foundation of our first offering, elevating it with the invaluable support of a custom nutrient plan. Our nutrition consultation is a comprehensive journey divided into seven key sections: goal setting, general information, nutrition analysis, physical analysis, visual documentation, motivational resources, and a food diary. Throughout this process, we’ll collaboratively construct the perfect program, not only to enhance your riding but to transform your entire way of life.
Your journey is never a solitary one; we’re with you every step of the way. Two weeks into your program, we’ll schedule a call to touch base, assess progress, and make any necessary adjustments. Your success is our shared mission, and your well-being remains our top priority throughout this transformative journey.
Halt Square’s performance package is designed for riders who want to get the most out of their competition season. If you’re anything like me, when it comes to show day, old habits seem to creep in the moment I go down the centerline.
How our performance package works:
- We use video analysis of your warm up and ring ride.
- As a team you, your coach and myself will review the warm up, ring ride and test to see where we can make improvements.
- This is the fun part, you get to compare your performance in the warm up to your ring ride. Our horses change, our feeling changes, and old habits may creep in. Having an instant visual of your test when you still remember the feel and experience will help you learn that much quicker.
- During riding, your mind is focused on the holistic goal. After your ride, you can dive a little deeper and find subtle adjustments in your horse, your performance as an athlete, and gain confidence in what your game plan is moving forward.
- Having a video also highlights moments athletes have overcome obstacles and showcases their improvements. This is equally important for an athlete’s confidence.
Adding the performance package to your show weekend will keep you in the right mindset, get the most out of your weekend, and is also an incredible way to track your progress as an individual athlete and as a partnership. At the end of your show season you can look back on your progress and view your improvements over time. It’s much easier for an athlete to stay focused, motivated and consistent with their training if they see they’re moving towards their goal. Having visuals and a team to reassure you can make all the difference!
Our Youth Package is a fun, non-overwhelming program that can become a fantastic stepping stone into one of our other packages. Depending on what your child’s goals are, it’s our job at Halt Square to help create a plan to achieve them.
What’s included?
- Each youth will have a profile on our training app
- Each week they will have a self-guided workout loaded and they can choose a convenient time to complete it
- We host online seminars twice per month to help educate equestrian youth. Topics include nutrition, mindset, stretch routines, guest speakers and answer any questions they may have!
- Fun, safe place for up and coming youth equestrians
Partner with our trainers for one-on-one personal training services, either in person or via online session. We are happy to accommodate to you! All of your assigned workouts on our app have a video description. If you’re looking to have guidance on your form, an extra push that week, or really dive deep into your fitness journey, we have three trainers available to work with you!
