Coach Karli
Hi, I'm Karli, an athletic trainer and physical therapist at Halt Square. I hold a Masters of Physical Therapy from the University of Toronto, with extensive clinical experience spanning cardiovascular, neurological, and orthopedic physical therapy. My passion lies in empowering equestrian athletes to surpass their own expectations through the transformative power of movement and rehabilitation therapy.
My deep passion for health and wellbeing drove me to pursue my Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of Toronto. I wanted to join the fascinating world of human movement and rehabilitation, all in the name of helping people achieve their movement goals and live their best, most active lives.
During my time at the University of Toronto, I had the opportunity to complete clinical placements in cardiovascular, neurological, and orthopaedic physical therapy. Working with individuals of all ages, I honed my skills in manual therapy and developed a solid grasp of exercise prescription. I took my learning a step further by completing Level 1 MAPclass to delve into postural and movement analysis principles.
As for me, I’ve always had a thing for staying active. While growing up, I participated in various sports such as dance, soccer, and badminton. But it was in the gym where I truly found my passion, exploring strength training and cardiovascular conditioning. I’ve been an F45 fitness coach and trainer since 2020, and you can often catch me challenging myself with burpees and box jumps.
Outside of the gym and the clinic, you’ll find me sipping on a big cup of coffee, munching on cherry tomatoes and chicken nuggets (yes, I have a soft spot for them!), spending quality time with my family and friends, walking my adorable dog, experimenting with new recipes, or diving deep into the latest physical therapy-related science.
As for my work, I pride myself on conducting thorough assessments, crafting thoughtful treatment plans, and truly understanding each athlete I work with. Equestrianism has a special place in my heart, and I’m fascinated by the sport. My mission is to partner with athletes, helping them achieve more than they ever thought possible through movement and rehabilitation. I’m all about providing evidence-based, personalized physical therapy assessments and treatment.
I hold a B.Sc. (Hons) in Kinesiology and an MScPT (Master of Science in Physical Therapy). My College registration number is 21889, and I’m currently a “Physical Therapy Resident.” That means I have one more exam to tackle in January, and after that, I can officially call myself a Physiotherapist. In the meantime, the “resident” title means I have a fantastic mentor to chat with, which I think is a great thing anyway!
If you’re ready to embark on a journey towards better movement and wellbeing, I’m here to support you every step of the way.
