Coach Miguel Wason
Hi, I'm Miguel Wason, an athletic trainer at Halt Square. Having worked with athletes of all calibers and disciplines across Canada & the USA, I have a passion for fitness, nutrition, and helping athletes reach their full potential. Equestrian riding is my passion and I look forward to helping you work towards your dreams and achieving the healthiest version of you and your horse.
My journey in the world of fitness coaching started in 2007-2008, when I joined forces with the London Legion Track and Field team, working with the Speed, Agility, and Quickness group. As the years unfolded, I ventured into the world of in-gym training at South London’s Gold’s Gym as a personal and athletic trainer. From there, I headed to Western Canada to work at Goodlife and TPH Training. However, it was my time in sunny Florida that truly shaped my path. Working closely with professional football players, I gained invaluable experience that would become a cornerstone of my career.
In 2014, I returned to London, Ontario with the new fitness wisdom I had accumulated in Florida. Back in my hometown, I set my sights on athletes at both the amateur and professional levels. Over the years, I’ve played a pivotal role in guiding high school athletes towards the world of university and college sports. I’ve also simultaneously helped college athletes bridge the gap and take their talents to the professional arena.
One of the highlights of my career was my involvement with the London Lightning Pro Basketball Organization during a championship season. I had the privilege of working with athletes across various elite leagues, including the CFL, NFL, NHL, NBA, Bundesliga, European Pro Women’s Volleyball, and European Pro Hockey Leagues.
Currently, I serve as an assistant strength and conditioning coach with the Western University football team, under the esteemed Jeff Watson. My role involves crafting strength workouts and devising conditioning programs that propel athletes to peak performance in speed and agility.
Through my journey, I’ve honed a specialized approach to training, finely tuned to the unique needs of each athlete and their respective sports. The realm of equestrian athletics presents an exciting opportunity to showcase these skills and further elevate athletes in their pursuit of excellence.
As the founder and athletic trainer at Halt Square, my passion for fitness and nutrition fuels my commitment to working with athletes across diverse disciplines and skill levels. This passion led me to establish Halt Square, where I apply my expertise to empower equestrian athletes, both in the saddle and beyond. My journey in fitness coaching began in 2007, and it continues to evolve, driven by the unwavering desire to help athletes reach their full potential.
